This UA-cam channel mostly deals with combustion engine vehicles and machines - HU3RAUM is a wordplay with the german word "Hubraum" that describes the size of displacement within a piston combustion engine. Of particular interest are older vehicles, typically referred to as „classic“, „vintage“, „prewar“ or "collector's vehicle", but also "enthusiasts vehicles" or machines of any age. Such vehicles and machinery offer a multitude of layers to experience them - look, shape, design, history but also the sound.
Hence, HU3RAUM is keen to present honest video footage with pure sound and without distracting elements. It should be the vehicle and the machine that takes center stage. Living up to the slogan „we love diversity“.

Swiss TRUCK ICONS Parade - Old SAURER and BERNA Trucks meet in Sursee, Switzerland
Old, classic Swiss trucks, mostly Saurer and Berna trucks, met in Sursee (Switzerland) for their annual meeting. Saurer AG, formerly Adolph Saurer AG, is a Swiss manufacturer of textile machinery and vehicle transmissions founded in 1853 and based in Arbon. Between the 1920s and 1980s, Saurer was primarily known for the production of commercial vehicles, in particular trucks, buses, trolleybuses and military vehicles. In 1983, Saurer produced its last civilian truck. In 1929, Saurer became the majority partner of Berna, Switzerland's second major commercial vehicle manufacturer, although from the 1970s onwards the two brands offered largely identical vehicles that could practically only be distinguished by their names.

Very cool model of the SM, but they need to fix the window motor and the engine seems to be burning oil. Not sure I'm sold on the velour dash however, or steering wheel. But love seeing it out and about.

what is the purpose of heating before starting the engine?
It is only the pre-heating that allows the hot bulb engine to start. Unlike gasoline and diesel engines, combustion in a hot bulb engine takes place in a separate chamber referred to as the hot bulb. Essentially, the hot bulb extends horizontally off the front of the engine. A fuel nozzle drips fuel into the hot bulb. The fuel would hit the metal plate, vaporize, mix with air and ignite. A narrow passage connected the bulb and the cylinder. The expanding gases would shoot down the small passage and move the piston in the cylinder. Petrol engines use electricity to fire a spark plug and rotate the crankshaft to get the engine going. Hot bulb engines do not have this luxury. On a mild day, the bulb must be heated for anywhere from two to five minutes and quite a bit longer on cold days and for larger engines.

Besten Dank! Kurz zu den Specs... Wassergekühlter Dreizylinder-Viertakt-Diesel mit 50 PS und 6-Gang Schrubradschaltgetriebe (5 vorwärts, 1 rückwärts). Der Hubraum liegt bei 5768 cm3 und die Höchstgeschwindigkeit bei 27 km/h. Gebaut wurde der hinterradgetriebene und 3.6-4.2 Tonnen schwere Deutz F3M 317 Traktor zwischen 1935 und 1942 in einer Stückzahl von 6248.

My uncle was a truck driver and during vacation I could go with him on tour! The oldest Saurer he drove had over 500k km under his belt! Was a model similar to 11:16. Of course I remember them from my military time!
